- German-born British prince consort. Born into the house of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha, he married (1840) his cousin, Queen Victoria, and was noted as a patron of British arts, sciences, and industry.
- Lake,A shallow lake of east-central Africa in the Great Rift Valley on the border between Uganda and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. In 1864, the explorer Sir Samuel Baker named the lake for Prince Albert, Queen Victoria's consort.
