Framestorming involves generating multiple alternative frames to understand the other person’s behavior, so your response is tempered by the consideration of other possible interpretations of the way you’re reading the situation. The first frame scanners often use for interpretation is a threat-laden one. Identifying other safe reframes creates a sense of internal safety that can reduce, delay, or prevent reactivity.
