- A Linnean order of birds, the fifth of the system, composed of the genera Didus, Pavo, Meleagris, Crax, Phasianus, Numida, and Tetrao. It is practically the same as the later order Gallinaceæ, or Rasores without the pigeons.
- An order of birds, the Gallinaceæ of authors, from which sundry non-conformable genera have been eliminated; the same as the Alectoromorphæ of Huxley.
