- noun In rhizocephalous crustaceans, a larval stage in which the parasite attaches itself to the host by an antenna, throws off its whole trunk, leaving only its head, and undergoes other modifications including the formation of a hollow arrow-like process or borer through which the parasite enters the body-cavity of the host.
