  • noun In architecture, another name for the corona; also, any horizontal member or string-course similar in profile to a corona, projecting from the face of a wall to throw off rain which would otherwise trickle down. Such larmiers are especially common in medieval architecture.
  • noun In zoology, the tear-bag; a subcutaneous sebaceous gland or follicle of sundry ruminants, as the Cervidæ or deer, situated under the skin below each eye, and opening upon the cheek near the inner corner of the eye to discharge its viscid secretion.
