Ibraheem, i've set my focus on lebanese politics following the July war (second lebanon war, for our israeli viewers). i must have missed the process whereby M14 alienated aoun and the shia. can you point me to key events or sample material that shows this process (aside from Jumblatt kicking out Aoun, that is. i did wonder why he made a seeming 180 degree turn from being staunchly anti-syrian and nationalist, to allying with a fundamentalist pro-syrian islamic party). alienating the shia is precisely the example of a lesson not learned. but then again, wasn't it way past the 90th minute?
