The puma (Puma concolor), two foxes (Dusicyon griseus and D. culpaeus), guanaco (Lama guanicoe), huemul (Hippocamelus bisulcus), pudu pudú (Pudu pudu), and huillín (Lutra provocax) are the largest native animals in the area and are relatively abundant in some parts of the ecoregion.
