Other birds of conservation significance are the Sooty Babbler Stachyris herberti, which is endemic to the Hin Namno - Phong Nha - Ke Bang range, the Crested Argus Rheinardia ocellata, Red-Collared Woodpecker Picus rabieri, and Wreathed and Great Hornbills (Rhyticeros undulatus, Buceros bicornis).

More than seventy-five birds are montane specialists, and BirdLife International considers two of these species threatened: the mountain peacock-pheasant (Polyplectron inopinatum) and the crested argus (Rheinardia ocellata).
