so i dont think that because some so called celebrities, some lobby groups with undeclared or unknown reasons to be against hs2, a magazine and a few mps oppose hs2 that we should not go ahead with it. hs2 critics have been unable to supply solid evidence against hs2 so have made the issue an emotive and at many times totally illogical debate.

and the institute of economic affairs - grand title ! their recent anti hs2 reprt neglected to mention that one of the authors is an anti hs2 camaigner who lives near the proposed line and the other one is a pro private roads lobbyist who would take much more of the countryside then hs2 ever could if he had his wish.

many other countries have built or continue to ppan and build high speed lines. they cant all be wrong or foolhardy. uk railways are overcrowded so we need extra capacity without disrupting the existing railway so we need hs2, which just also so happens to be a high speed line.
