Araucaria araucana , formerlyAraucaria imbricata ), the branches of which are so crowded and intertwisted “as to puzzle a monkey to climb.” It is also calledmonkey puzzle andmonkey puzzle tree . The edible nuts are over an inch long, and are calledpiñon by the Chilians.
