While the oboe d'amore is often specified in baroque music, the well-known double concerto for oboe and violin by J S Bach was specifically written for the oboe d'amore. Much modern music has been written for the combination of soprano oboe, oboe d'amore, cor anglais (pitched a fifth below the soprano oboe), and either bass oboe or bassoon see tweets from @alingrt and @ReedsandTools.
