If the script runs under PowerShell 2.0 (that is, you're deploying your role with an OSFamily setting of 2), you can get away with the following single command (which sets the policy for that one command versus globally): powershell -ExecutionPolicy Unrestricted .\script.ps1 same result, and I like the fact I'm not poking directly into the registry and I can use the same script for both OSFamily values in Windows Azure.
