 I’m not just trying to nitpick here; I just think your use of the word ‘evolution’ doesn’t distinguish in any way between these ‘changes’ and normal variation in a stable species, to say nothing of what is normally understood to be evolution: i.e., transpeciation–moving across the species boundary.
