Ooh, that one's almost bad enough for the list, but it inspired me to add raring. :-)

aposiopesis and indefatigable are two of my favoritest words to say, hoo hoo hoo hoo. And Gloucester isn't bad if you say it right. Same with Worcester.

I agree that aposiopesis is fun to say, once you know how. It's getting there that's troublesome. I can't stand indefatigable because it's supposed to emphasize fatigue but instead emphasizes fat. Finally, Glaucester is a nice name too but demands to stay on this list for virtue of the fact that is looks NOTHING like it sounds. I used to know a girl from Glaucester, and I made a point to mention it phonetically every time I saw her. Drove her plum crazy, it did.

I simply cannot pronounce rural. Murderer, terrorist, and squirrel are almost as bad.

I'm with you on rural. What a terrible word.

And while I'm at it...meringue. I can't pronounce this word without swallowing my tongue. Must be the "gue" thingue. ;-)

Yes, that'll do it. I find the dance name pronunciation of the word much more stumbly than the frothy white stuff, though. :-P
