Arthur Rimbaud liked this word so much that he used it in the title of one of his poems, Being Beauteous. The title was actually in English while the rest of the poem was composed in French.

Georgi Shilov uses the word in his introduction of Richard Silverman's translation of his Elementary Real and Complex Analysis, published by Dover. He writes, "In the books of our day, however, much attention is paid to the appearence in analysis of various 'stages' of abstraction, i.e., to various 'structures' (Bourbaki's term) characterizing the mathematicological foundations of the original constructions."
