I heard that American women advocating voting rights preferred the term suffragist rather than suffragette. Of course there were also men who advocated votes for women, and they could be called suffragists, but not suffragettes.
In Baltimore, Maryland, an "Arabber" is a person who uses a horse and cart to sell vegetables, fruits, and other food items. Most Arrabers are black males. More information is available on the Arabber Preservation Society Home Page
