For anyone to say seriously the a given system is to big to fail, is folly. In that regards if a system could exist and operate in a state which it both at the sametime met its own speciafic independant definition of its maximum size and exist at the very top of its limits based on parameters set by restriction of resource or human contribution it is more likely to over stretch become perturbed and then crumble to the ground. Its much more sensible to think of this statement as a misconception that more rightly ought read, "So big it had to fail".
