rolig commented on the word azazel
A literary emanation of this fellow is the character Azazello in Mikhail Bulgakov's amazing novel The Master and Margarita. He is one of the members of Woland's entourage – along with Fagot, the giant cat Behemoth, and the witch Hella – when Woland (a.k.a. Satan) visits Moscow in the 1930s to see how the Muscovites are doing and to stage his Walpurgis Night Ball.
