Nahuatl. The marigold flower, one of whose uses in Mexico is in dried and powdered form, which is fed to chickens to make their eggs' yolks more yellow. So I was told by the attendant at a rural feed store in the Bajio region west of Mexico City. Compare Nauhatl xochitl.
