"Dosa" is a food item popular in India. It is round in shape and eaten as breakfast, snack or tiffin. Dosa is made of a wet, leavened batter of Urad Dal (scientific name: Vigna Mungo), a type of legume, and uncooked rice.

Dosa batter tends to be lightly spiced (e.g. with methi) whereas idli is generally not. But roughly speaking the batter ingredients are the same: rice and black gram.
