Sometimes in my mind I confuse gingko with gecko.

Bit easier if you live in the tropics: gingko does not scamper, upside-down, across the ceiling.

I do prefer my plants not to be too rowdy.
Geckos are good in that they help to de-bug your house. Moths, earwigs, other insects, possibly not listening devices. Unfortunately gravity has its way with gecko poo.

Bilby, I trust you understand I have a reason for asking... would you happen to know if there is a specific term for gecko poo?

Not that I'm aware of, c_b. It is quite distinctive though, especially when you find it grinning at you from your morning coffee.
The only Australian animal that I can think of in terms of specific excrement is the kangaroo, droppings of which are often referred to as pellets because of their shape. Granted, this word does have other uses.

Perhaps Geico can be defined Wordie-style as "gecko poop." I would be totally down with that.

Good idea reesetee, the coffee is overpriced. I have no idea why a cappuccino, should one request, costs more in Darwin than in Florence.

Would be kopi cicak, if anything, with cicak pronounced CHEE-chuck. Ononomatopoeia for the sound made by the gecko, who is in fact quite productive of both aural accompaniment and coffee enhancement. What a hardworking little bugger.
