  • Short for "merchandise." At most rock shows bands set up "merch tables" to sell tshirts, singles, etc.

Pretty soon Wordie merch will be available at the Wordie Cafe Press Store. It's empty so far, but planned items include "crappucino" mugs and "sesquipedalian" onesies. Please nominate other pieces of crap we can sell.

    October 16, 2007

  • Oh my gosh! Crappucino mugs?! How awesome! I'll definitely come up with some ideas. *thinks hard*

    October 16, 2007

  • There are some lists around here that would make excellent mugs.

    October 16, 2007

  • Yes, and some Conversations of Legend that could work out purty nice. (The short ones.)

    October 16, 2007

  • Does anyone have a Conversations of Legend list? Would love to see that.

Crappuccino mugs now available. Boy is my family going to be confused and disappointed when they all get these for xmas :-)

I'll keep playing with the crap on cafe press. Any design/word/list suggestions?

    October 16, 2007

  • Chained_Bear has an excellent list called Conversations for the Ages.

    October 16, 2007

  • Oh, no, the crappuccino mugs are just TOO good! I think I actually must buy some.

How cool would it be to put whole lists in cloud form on merch? Oh, dear. I'm in trouble. I can see I'm going to spend money that I oughtn't.

    *sigh*

    October 16, 2007

  • Crappuccino mugs??? WOW! *runs off to buy a dozen* What a fantastic idea! T-shirts! Calendars! Onesies! Oh, the possibilities! This is bad...this is very, very bad. :-D

Geez, I sleep for a few hours and suddenly Wordie is merchandising! Ah, the glories of the Interwebs.

    October 16, 2007

  • Oh, and Jennarenn has a few excellent Conversations of Legend-type lists--in fact, I think she may have launched the whole idea. :-)

    October 16, 2007

  • That's teh Interwebs, reesetee. We're on WORDIE, for god's sake.

John, I respectfully defer to jennarenn's suggestions for conversations--her Conversations list is probably more complete than mine, and certainly was listed first.

I'm partial to sausage fest though--partly because it still makes me giggle to see that phrase, and partly because all the comments are short enough that they might actually fit on the back of a shirt. (Do you think we could get permission to use the "hilarious misunderstanding" comic too?)

Actually, hilarious misunderstanding has even shorter comments, and is even more apparently obtuse. Maybe that one's better. Hmm...

    October 16, 2007

  • Apologies. teh Interwebs.

You don't know how much it took out of me to type that.

So go for obtusity, you think? Kind of reminds me of Despair Wear, which I absolutely love.

    October 16, 2007

  • Ha! Look what I just rediscovered: 18-pounders! Short and weird--everything we need.

Also agree with reesetee. Earworm merch would be cool. "Caution: Emits Earworms," for example.

    October 16, 2007

  • We seriously need the following t-shirts:

    epicaricacy: Don't make me laugh.

    waxed paper: Shirted nerd.

haversack: For the haver who has everything.

    Have a nice firkin day!

    hagiothecium: Google got pwned.

    madeupical: Trust no one.

Also, if there was a way to generate posters or shirts or something on-the-fly, a "purchase this list for use in meatspace" link would be nice to dynamically do what rocksinmypocket said, and create merch with lists in cloud format.

    October 16, 2007

  • Hmmm.... could I get a "purchase this list for use in meatspace" shirt or mug?

    October 16, 2007

  • Or maybe just a "meat" shirt.

    October 16, 2007

  • Ferkin awesome shirts, u!

    October 16, 2007

  • U, these are classics. Every one of them! *counts money* I especially like hagiothecium and epicaricacy for t-shirt value. I especially like haversack for conversational value. And I just like meatspace, period. What's not to like?

    October 16, 2007

  • It would fit in nicely with chained_bear's sausage fest. ;-)

Uselessness, great ideas for t-shirts! I heartily concur--especially on the madeupical once, since...well, you know.

    October 16, 2007

  • As for meat, check out this shirt, inspired by this story, courtesy of Dinosaur Comics.

    October 16, 2007

  • Priceless! Thanks, uselessness!

    October 16, 2007

  • Hey, speaking of that story, I also recommend Terry Bisson's other work. I just read Walking Man a little while ago. Very dreamlike and atmospheric--once you get over the lead girl's always saying "hit" instead of "it," that is.

    October 16, 2007

  • To add to the suggestions: I think we need a Professor von Schmartzenpanz and/or a chaordic t-shirt.

    October 16, 2007

  • Oh yeah, I second that one, rt!

    October 16, 2007

  • I'm way behind in my reading, so I just read your post John. In fact, I did a rather embarassing little dance. I've been *wanting* a wordie t-shirt. Particularly anything I can wear in front of other people's kids. If we're taking requests, I would be up for a stuffie shirt. :)

In addition to my conversations list, check out chit-chat and idle chatter. Right now they're organized by legnth, but that needs to be redone. I'll turn it in with my TPS report.

  • Penny Arcade (1/5/05):

"If kids buy enough products, the Merch rouses from his coma just long enough to impart some keen insight."

    December 3, 2007

  • On my Wordie up! page, I posited a way to bring the wordiemobile to the masses, and reesetee wisely suggested raising it here: The other kind of -mobile, one of those dangly things with lots of words hanging from it, maybe even interchangeable wordies to hang from it...

    December 6, 2007

  • How did this not end up on all those 'Wordie conversations' kind of lists?

I have to admit I'm dying to seen jennarenn's rather embarassing little dance *blush*

    June 19, 2008

  • Here you go, bilby. Don't know how I missed it. :-)

    June 19, 2008

  • Overdue rt but well done nonetheless. Jennarenn, make my day.

    June 19, 2008

  • Never mind that I have every other word in the universe on my lists, bilby. ;->

I think c_b has such a list too.

    June 19, 2008

  • Yah. There's a link to it below, near the bottom of the page, in several comments.

    June 19, 2008

  • Here you go bilby:

    *does the jennarenn dance*

    October 19, 2008

  • Love it! Oh yeah!
