Meerkat is when you make up stuff that rhymes with meerkat (or just cat), but you have to invent a clue so other people would guess your invented -kat.
I can't think of any good examples... How about, "A cat that spends a lot of time at the pub" clue might have the answer of "Beerkat."
There was one where the clue was, "A Founding Father -kat that is seen in many places," or something like that, and the answer was "A George-Washington-Slept-Here-kat."
I'm not explaining this well. Somebody pants me.

In the UK, the word 'pants' is also being used as slang to mean: bad. For example, last week Eddie Izzard tweeted that the weather was pants = bad.
Schoolkids also use pants to mean 'not good'.
