A plot that does not have very much motion. Some do not consider plotlets actual plots. You can find a plotlet in the movie Napolean Dynamite.

In scriptwriting terms, would this be like a c plot or a d plot?

I think some of the best stories are plotlets. Especially short short stories. If fiction is written well, with lush descriptions and vivid imagery, occasionally a substantial plot isn't necessary. I've personally written pages and pages of a story where nothing new happens: the drama is played out in the protagonist's mind though a series of vignettes and internal monologues.
Not that I'm saying it's Pulitzer material or anything, but some of my friends liked it. :-)

I would guess both C plots and D plots could be called plotlets. As could particularly scheming blood cells.

I absolutely agree. I, personally, am a huge fan of Napolean Dynamite, but I also enjoy plotlets in other movies, stories, etc..
