Centetidæ , belonging to Ericulus, Echinope, and related genera, native of Madagascar. They are more or less spinose and resemble the hedgehog in habits. The rice tendrac (Oryzorictes hora ) is very injurious to rice crops. Some of the species are called alsotenrec .
