bilby commented on the word trugo
"The fundamental problem with trugo was succinctly but somewhat depressingly illustrated last week by long-time player and unabashed fan of the game, Gerald Strachan. Looking at an old team photograph on a wall of the Brunswick Elderly Citizens Trugo Club, Strachan pointed at the faces and declared: 'He's dead, he's dead, he's dead, he's dead, he's dead and he's dead and that bloke behind him is dead.'
It was a sobering snapshot of the sport that legend says was invented by bored Newport railway workers in the 1920s and is still played only in Melbourne. Its playing base is ageing and many fear that the game itself will die in just a matter of years."
