Well-known (at least to wordniks, if not to the world), famously bad real, fictional, or apocryphal mistranslations (or correct-but-inexplicable translations)

Notable examples occur in the infamous nineteenth-century Portuguese-English phrase book English As She Is Spoke (which probably deserves a list of its own) and the Monty Python’s Flying Circus sketch “Dirty Hungarian Phrasebook”.

When listing complete sentences, please use proper capitalization and punctuation, unless the lack thereof is a feature of the mistranslation. (I regret that the lovely new interface will not allow this in the case of questions.) Thank you.
