The wombat is a totem of resourcefulness, stability and foundation. Wombats have long claws adapted for digging. The marsupial is in captivity at Ballarat Wildlife Park in Sydney. The average lifespan for wild wombats is between 15 and 20 years, while the average weight is 32 pounds, a park official said.
