The site allows users to create lists of words, phrases, and even some sentences. These lists are a clever way to show connections between words and ideas. For instance, the word clarinet shows up on lists of musical instruments, reesetee's "Just 'cause I like 'em, C," list, and even list where users were trying to come up with things you might find in a backpack. However, you'll see that even though clarinet shows up on two lists of organ stops, it does not, as of yet, show up in any lists about klezmer music.
To remedy that, there are a couple of ways to make a new list. One way is to go to the top right corner of the screen, click on the pull-down menu where your user name appears, and select "New List." This will take you to a separate screen where you can come up with a title for your list, add a short description of your list, and decide whether you'd like other users to be able to add words to your list. Another, easier way is to go to a specific word you'd like to add to a list--clarinet, maybe, or klezmer--and scroll down the page until you see the section where the other lists are. On the right side of the page is an option to add the word to your own list. There should be a spot that says "New list" there. If you click on that, it will ask you for a title and give you the option to make a description. When you're ready, click "save" and you'll share your awesome list with all of the other klezmer admirers here on the site!

Glad you liked my definition of Bulgar - I'm a total newbie. Don't know how to create a list, or what its purpose is, or how to use it, etc. Tips?

Missing from both the definition and the examples is an understanding of the word "bulgar"which is well known to klezmer musicians and aficionados of the genre. The Bulgar is an instrumental dance form in 2/4 time (less frequently written in 4/4) which is common in the klezmer repertoire. It is usually played quite fast and is distinguished from other dance forms by its characteristic rhythmic accompaniment pattern.
