A horse breed developed from horses originally imported to the Caribbean from Spain and known for a smooth four beat gait. Popular in Texas for trail riding.
Coined by anthropologist Johannes Fabian, it describes the denial of the simultaneity of the ethnographic other (whether person, body, art form, culture, or race) with the representing subject and the consequent placing of that other in an other time.
