Artifactuality is a term devised by Dr. Gabriel Mayer in order to classify, identify, and attribute object qualities that render them suitable for museal curation. It was initially developed for usage in Holocaust studies and related museum work. Thus an artifact needs to have certain attributes for acquisition and collection, in order to be considered part of a collection. The key operative is authenticity and those qualities which develop a resume or biography of the considered object.
