Thomas Hart Benton was a camofleur--I think Arshile Gorky was one, too--but often I see this spelled as camoufleur. Which spelling do we prefleur?

*facepalm* ...camoufleur is obviously the correct form. I think that is why I had little success finding citations.
Here is a google books search ngram showing that camoufleur is by far the more prevalent spelling; in fact the number of instances of camOfleur is below the threshold needed to appear in the graph.

Well we can leat them have camoufleur and we are now free to completely subvert camofleur to our hearts' content.
I look at the -fleur and think that it should mean repurposing a piece of military hardware, like say a tank, by using it as a planter for flowers.
At least in Bilby's Alternate Universe.
