Long story short - and yes, Troof, I'm ignoring your inane pabulum, because each and every one of your charges was addressed by parties with a direct standing in this case in 2006-7 and I've got better things to to do than try and convince some suburban chiffarobe-monitor that black people are not, in fact, to blame for the Holocaust - racism is only real when it's reverse racism, the Emancipation Proclamation forced liberty on a people unsuited for it, and naming a day and a street after Martin Luther King is unfair unless you also do it for David Duke, who struggled similarly for the constitutional rights and spiritual freedom of a long-oppressed, nationally underrepresented minority.

Isn't this word spelled chifforobe? Also, looking it up to check the spelling, I discovered it's a portmanteau of chiffonier and wardrobe, which is pretty cool! (p.s. I always thought it was spelled chifferobe!)

Given the portmanteau etymology, chifforobe does seem most defensible. But I have only ever seen it spelled chiffarobe.

Yes, I agree--there are at least three reasonable spellings for this word, and all of them look right.
I think "chiffo-" also makes sense if you think of "chiffon."
