    I believe Lorem would make a wonderfully unique given name. Though I don't believe any woman will be willing to name her child thusly.

    Lorem Ipsum sounds like a nice name, but knowing what it is kind of ruins it for me. It's like naming your kid Insert Name Here. And my Latin's pretty rusty, but doesn't the phrase mean "loves grief?" Kinda cruel.

    I wonder if there's a photographic equivalent of lorem ipsum. I mean, there you are, doing a dummy layout that has text and pictures, you whack in some lorem ipsum for the text, and for the photos...? Test pattern? Grey marle swatch? Pictures of mannequins? Fennec cubs?

    I that case, you would do an image search for 'generic logo'.


    in the printing industry, they would use screen resolution (72 dpi)  thumbnails of the high res pictures (300 dpi)  when laying out a magazine page or movie poster, and then have the higher powered system add the high resolution images when creating high res pictures for output.  They would use an 'OPI server' to swap the high res images back into the page for high res printing.
