January 22, 2006 at 8: 38 pm this is pretty cool. i think these photos look so much like photos of models because of the way the tilt-shift lens emulates a shallow depth of field. usually in photography this effect of two out of focus background and foreground this dramatic only happens on things that are pretty small and close together, like a model, not on things that are far apart like cites. this has always been the mark of a good model photographer, mastering control of depth of field to emulate the non-miniature world. that why often times it is so obvious in movies that use minatures that it is not real no matter how well designed the miniature setis.

The bigger part of the reason was that I was a little more than irritated at Phoreign’s perpetuation of people’s mis-pronunciation of the word pho as “pho,” rhymes with “faux,” and not better as “pho,” rhymes more accurately with “duh.”
