C'mon over, y'all. Honestly, some of the stories about wildlife in Australia are way exaggerated. On the other hand, the Gould's monitor did walk around the outdoor dining table while I was having breakfast on Monday. There's something earthy and yet enticing about having breakfast with one-metre reptiles.
Oooh, ooh, reminds me, I saw a whimbrel today.

Ah, I miss living in the country sometimes. The city just doesn't have as many interesting animals.
That said, I saw a huge sleepy lizard in our school once and my friend found a gecko the size of my little finger in her room the other day.

I shall send you to the suburb of Wulagi. While the streets of Jingili may be named after aviators, and those of Wagaman after exploration of the northern coastline, the streets of Wulagi are named after endemic and visiting species of birds :-)
Now if only there was a B&B in Whimbrel Crescent ...

Wulagi it is. If only everyone were as clever as its townspeople. :-)
