kind of.. its when the page only loads some content until you scroll down then at the bottom you may see a loading spinner that waits and then loads more content. here's a page that takes a while to load erin: http://www.wordnik.com/lists/b-adjectival-arcana-a
it may be useful to have the option at the top to load all content at once, but have a note that it maybe slow on longer lists? but honestly i think there's a problem with the server.. it shouldn't take this long to load 8000 words.

another handy feature concerning list organization aside from being able to categorize our own lists would be to be able to categorize other lists from our favorites. i know this is a bit nit-picky but i could use this too at this point .. it gets overwhelming as you probably are aware of erin. :)
i have my own reasons for this and i'm sure there are other users (present and future) that could utilize something like this for their own needs i would think.

chrome i've disabled my extensions thats so weird. what could cause that? firefox its showing fine. it appears for a split second onload then goes bye bye .. odd
UPDATE: i've figured it out, when my page zoom is set to 75% it goes away. it's either wrapping or going behind something so that's a bug. it actually reappears at 50%

too bad the cases aren't forced to lower on common words like wordie used to do, or that we can manually set this for adding large lists of words.
when i asked about this over a year ago i was given a response that there was a solid plan to handle cases. not really seeing it.

oh i remember, is it possible to disable the images loaded from flickr per user, i don't need them and it really slows the page load it seems to make those connections. the images are rarely relevant to the actual words or meanings anyways. google image search would even return more meaningful results.

disregard my complaint about the font. it was a terrible helvetica i had installed on my system. once i removed it, it fell back to default arial and looks fine.
my apologies, but i still think the user customizable font type and size is a cool idea.

pretty sure a significant part of the slow loading on the word pages is due to the flickr images. just from what i've observed. the more images, the slower it loads. when there's none, it's much faster.. but still delayed a bit too long.

yep. indeed i am. they've added too many bells and whistles to the site and its on the brink of sucking.
it was done with no forewarning or input from the users either. thats the part that gets me.
if we had the choice to upgrade or go back to legacy / classic mode without the bugs.. everything would be cool. but no one seems to even care or address that. the sites broken. it is a big deal. click this word: supine. how long did it take for the page to load? it used to be instant.

SPEED UP THE WORD PAGES. the lag is seriously on the brink of making the site unusable. i literally lose my train of thought sometimes waiting 10-20 seconds for the fucking page to load. this is not cool.
the site used to be instant. INSTANT. the way it should be. I'm on a super fast network too. all other major sites do not do this. the old wordnik pages don't do it either. just the new ones.

i hope u guys get all the new interface word pages to load faster too. the old pages like my list page and even the community page loads about 3-5 times faster on average. can't believe i'm the only one who notices this too. cmon, i remember when the whole site worked this fast. it was so nice.

Yeah on Dolphin 6 .. this is the only site that's completely unusable out of all the sites I use. I noticed that each link I hit asks to use 'which browser' like 2-3 times .. no other site does this. Is this a ruby fail? Ruby uses multiple processes .. its really not good. Take a hint from twitter and stop using ruby, they would be out of business if they kept using ruby on rails.

the word pages are loading super sloooww for me (win7 chrome PC). also the site on my android doesn't work at all (regular or mobile).
PS the regular used to work on my android. most of my mobile lists don't load at all because they're too big. (it loads the first 3 words and locks up)

sluggishness is definitely related to loading so much data on the word pages themselves at once! :/ it's too much especially when there's external http calls to flickr and such..
you should use a lazy loading technique to load external data (flickr and such) activated only when scrolling to the bottom.. something like this so the meat of the page (definitions / lists / comments and such) loads instantly like it should being that it's only text.

the new design has elements that are superior to the old design but i'm ending up having to perform more clicks to accomplish the the same tasks as before, when it should be ideally less clicks (as in one preferably). perhaps because of the bugs, but I can think of far superior ways to streamline the flow here.

avocados are too. mushrooms are not.
yams, cactus and pine needles are edible plant materials too but i'd put them in the same category as asparagus.. just gross!!

bilby is correct about it being a jumped up graminoid! if you're going to include these types of edible plant material (and leaves like kale!) then you have to include spices like ginger.
